The Portuguese tactician admitted that he lost control of himself in that un-fateful Spanish Super Cup second-leg at the Camp Nou but stated that he was tempted by reason.
With less than two weeks remaining until the start of the 2012/13 Spanish top flight football season, Real Madrid and Barcelona are putting the final touches to their preparations for Spanish Super Cup.
Start of the last season saw La Blaugrana and Los Blancos get involved in an ugly fight in the second leg at the Camp Nou. While the players were involved in a shoving match, Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho, was seen eye poking then Barcelona assistant manager, Tito Vilanova.
Vilanova replied with a slap on the Portuguese’s head, an act that got him banned for one match in the competition, while the Special One was banned for two matches. Angel Maria Villar lifted the sanctions on the two managers as they tackle each other for the first time in Spanish Super Cup.
Ahead of the two legged trophy, Jose Mourinho acknowledged that he lost control of himself at that moment. Nonetheless, he added that the dispute is a thing of the past and he has not quarrels with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 coach anymore.  
Continuing on the topic, Mourinho added that there was a story behind his actions that propelled him to do such a thing.
"I should obviously not have done what I did," Mourinho said while responding to questions at a press conference while on tour with Real Madrid in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034. "Nevertheless, there was a whole story behind that that made me lose a little control."
Mourinho took responsibility for not only losing his cool but failing to contain his players as the match turned into a brawl.
"The one who failed there was me, and I place plenty of emphasis these days on my players just to continue concentrating on games themselves and controlling their emotions.”
"There lie no problems between Tito [Vilanova] and myself. We greeted each other normally in subsequent matches. Thankfully, the story is over and we must just hope to avoid such instances in the future."
