The Portuguese mentor drew comparisons between the two English clubs and has voiced that City can go on to win the Champions League in the future.
Real Madrid's head coach, Jose Mourinho, has expressed that progress at Manchester City has been similar to what happened at Chelsea when they underwent a change of ownership.
The Emirates Stadium-based outfit's administration experienced a takeover four years ago and their new owners have provided them with a great deal of financial backing, allowing the Citizens to forge a very strong squad.
Last season the Blues managed to secure the Barclays English Premier League title which can be attributed to their ability to invest heavily in the transfer market.
Mourinho has compared the change in the Eastland outfit to the scenes that were witnessed when Chelsea were bought over. With Roman Abramovich buying the club, the Stamford Bridge outfit capitalized on their ability to spend.
As a result, the London side became stronger and became one of the most prominent sides in the Premier League. Abramovich's era saw Chelsea winning the English crown after a hiatus of almost 50 years.
Last season, the London Blues were also able to win their first ever UEFA Champions League title. It certainly was a remarkable feat for the Stamford Bridge outfit as they managed to make history.
Jose Mourinho remarked that if City keep improving at their current pace, they will also be able to win the prestigious tournament in the future.
While talking to reporters, the 49-year-old was quoted as saying:
"I don't think it is very different to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. Since Roman bought the club, [Claudio] Ranieri was the first coach, then I came and we won the first league, some cups and some more titles. Carlo [Ancelotti] then came and they continued to win and finally
they won the Champions League.”
"I don't know if it is this season or next season with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294, or with another person in the future, but normally in the direction the club is going, sooner or later they will win the big cup."
Real Madrid and Manchester City have been drawn in Group D of the Champions League, also considered to be the 'group of death'.
