Former Tottenham star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 has stated that the Portuguese tactician wants him to play with the same “Spurs” style, but at an even higher level.
The latest summer transfer window saw one of the most talked about move materialize as Tottenham’s board decided to cash upon their Croatian star, Luka Modric, amid repeated interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Jose Mourinho had been a long admirer of the Croatian midfielder and finally got his wish completed, as Madrid completed the move, which cost them in the region of around 40 million Euros.
Modric has had a positive start to his career at Los Blancos and has put up a number of decent performances for the men in white, albeit Madrid not enjoying one of their weirdest starts to a campaign, in many years.
The recently signed midfielder stated that his current manager asks more from him than his former manager Harry Redknapp.
"Mourinho asks me to play as I did with Tottenham, but at a higher level," he told reporters at a press conference.
Modric also recorded that he enjoyed a lot playing with fellow team mates http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sami-Khedira-c32325 in the midfield. The Croatian went on to label the Santiago Bernabeu as the best stadium in the world and believed that the capital outfit are by far,
the biggest football club on the planet, to date.
"My favourite position is as midfielder, playing with Xabi and Khedira. You can't compare it with Tottenham."
The former Tottenham star said that he is enjoying his time at the Spanish capital and is determined to win the Champions League with the Madrid based outfit.
"If we continue playing as we did against Atletico Madrid we will be favourites to win the Champions League. We must keep that passion. I feel good and I think I'm improving."
Modric also talked about the competitive nature of La Liga.
"I think everything is going well, Spanish League is very tough, especially away matches."
Madrid have to play Ajax in their upcoming game in the UEFA Champions League and have already sealed progression to the next round of the competition.
