Jose Mourinho en route Premier League?
The self proclaimed special one, Jose Mouriho has often been known for his brand of arrogance backed by an impressive record to match. The Portuguese supremo has recently stated that he prefers life in the Barclays Premier League and intends to go back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 appear to be his port of call.
It really seems astonishing what difference a year could make. In charge of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, leading the Italian League and going on to win it along with the domestic cup. Turning their attention to the European tournament, the Portuguese technician steered his team to a memorable victory against Bayern Munich in the Champions League. Making what many perceived as a step up joining the Spanish giants Real Madrid, it appeared that the Mourinho could do no wrong. However, after enduring a torrid time at the Santiago Bernabeu, it seems that his marriage with the La Liga might soon be heading for divorce.
The Special One said, “I've decided to return to England. I have nothing prepared about my future - I just want to be happy in my work. I have no preferences about Manchester United, Manchester City or Chelsea. I just want to rediscover the joy.”
We always considered Mourinho a blunt person. However, the statement sounds rather rash considering that he himself admitted that he had zero preparation for the potential move. Perhaps the order in which he named the 3 potential Premier League sides could well and truly be his way of indicating his most favoured out of the three. A potential Manchester United – Jose Mourinho marriage seems like a challenge worthy of its place in the Special One’s resume. However, that is dependent on Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. It seems rather unrealistic that the Red Devil owners would look to replace their longest serving manager unless the former doesn’t want to call it a day.
The Real Madrid boss further added: "I'm not saying the Premier League is the most spectacular in the world but it is the best organised... the fair play and the enormous respect for your opponent."
There is no secret that the Portuguese was heavily bashed in the media after being slaughtered by the Catalans in the El Clasico – Perhaps the latter part of his statement looks to compliment that very phenomenon. Mourinho himself recently commented that he wasn’t hired to beat Barcelona.
However, it does lead one to ponder, how different things would’ve been had the El Clasico ended with advantage Real Madrid. They were already leading Pep Guardiola’s side by 2 points; a win would have effectively put them 5 points clear of their nearest rivals. Would there still be speculation regarding Mourinho’s future? Football is a funny game. There is little room for ifs and buts.
