Despite the speculations surrounding Mourinho’s departure from the Santiago Bernabeu, the Portuguese mentor has signed a contract extension that binds him to Los Blancos until 2016.
Real Madrid enjoyed a successful season under their Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho.

Despite being labelled as favourites to win the European competition, Los Blancos were knocked out by Bayern Munich in the semi-final stage of the competition.
The match went down to penalties and the Germans were able to qualify for the final which was scheduled to take place in their home stadium, the Allianz Arena.
With Madrid not winning the European tournament, it means that Jose Mourinho still has a lot of things left to accomplish at the Bernabeu and in recent reports it was noted that the Portuguese mentor has signed a contract extension with Real Madrid.
The Real Madrid coach signed a new deal which is going to keep him at the Bernabeu until 2016.
The previous contract would keep Mourinho at the Bernabeu until 2014 and many speculated that he would leave the club in order to go back into the Premier League. However, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ has put an end to all such rumours by putting pen to paper.
The club statement read:
Real Madrid CF and Jose Mourinho have reached an agreement to extend the latter’s contract with the club until 30 June 2016.”
Jose Mourinho joined Real Madrid back in 2010 and helped them win the Copa del Rey during his first season in charge.

Jose Mourinho will not be taking on the challenge of Josep Guardiola anymore. In fact, it is going to be Tito Vilanova who will be in charge of affairs at the Nou Camp.
However, next season, for Mourinho, will not only be about winning the Spanish La Liga. The Portuguese tactician is going to try and take the UEFA Champions League, something he came close to winning even this season.
If Mourinho wins the Champions League with Madrid, he will be the only manager to win the European title with 3 different clubs of 3 different countries.
