Jose Mourinho eyes return to English Premier League
Jose Mourinho has been in the headlines one way or the other. Though his side, Real Madrid, is trailing Barcelona in the Spanish La Liga, the Portuguese manager is still drawing more attention than his Spanish counterpart Pep Guardiola. Recently, Mourinho
has exhibited interest in returning to the English Premier League, though he has yet to decide the final destination.
The manager joined Real Madrid after having a great season with the Italian giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan. Despite his winning streak, the manager accepted the offer made by Real Madrid. Perhaps he wanted a new challenge, a club that needed him. At Inter, he had developed
a strange relationship with the media owing to his unusual spats with the rival managers.
Now the situation is not going well for him at Real Madrid. In the beginning, he enjoyed a lot of support because of a great start to the season. But everything changed with the defeat against Barcelona – his relationship with the Madrid administrators got
strained. From Madrid’s perspective, Mourinho was signed to check the domination of the Catalan giants, but even the ‘most-suitable’ failed to deliver.
Gonzalo Higuain’s injury came up as an apparent cause for this unfriendly turn. After the injury, Mourinho had no choice but to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Karim-Benzema-c20350, seemingly not his favourite. In January, Mourinho wanted to buy a new striker to replace the injured Argentinean,
but the bosses refused to come up with the funds. That was the first time Mourinho spoke about leaving the club next summer.
Also, Karim Benzema did better than expected as he went on to score crucial goals in important matches, reflecting Mourinho did not really need to replace Higuain. The loan deal of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 finalised and apparently the tension seemed over. However,
the sporting director of Madrid, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Valdano criticised Mourinho for his decision to keep Benzema on the benches, sparking the controversy once again.
Talking to the media, Mourinho has once again hinted at rejoining the English Premier League in future. The manager said he wanted to rediscover the joy of being a Premier manager. He called EPL the best organised league and said that they have fair play
and respect for opponents. Asked about a possible destination, Mourinho replied that he was unsure – “Manchester United, Manchester City and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786”.
The Portuguese tactician has already had his chance in the league with Chelsea. Though his term there was not as remarkable as his stay with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 or Italy, he did extremely well. He won two league titles with the Blues and the team still has
some reflections of their ex-manager. Mourinho’s only setback was the elusive Champions League as he couldn’t fetch a win unlike the expectations.
There are slim chances that Mourinho will be called back by Chelsea in view of the last-time rifts with the owner, Roman Abramovich. Manchester United, on the other hand, is preparing for a possible departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and they are looking for
possible replacements. Jose Mourinho is definitely on their list and the ‘Special One’ has also expressed the desire to replace Ferguson at Old Trafford.
At the moment, Barcelona seems to be slipping away with another title, which might make Mourinho’s departure swifter. Probability is high the fans would see him moving to the next club at the start of the next season.
