The Portuguese manager was unimpressed by the fight put up by Real Madrid players as Getafe rallied back from a goal down to take all the points with their second half performance.
Gonzalo Higuain gave Real Madrid the lead in the first half as he hit the back of the net, capitalizing on an excellent ball by Angel Di Maria. The goal was a just reward for Los Blancos, who should have gotten the lead earlier in the match but Mesut Ozil
failed to put the ball in an empty net.
Real Madrid lacked the initiative in the second half and were made to pay for their relaxed attitude by El Geta. Getafe equalized from a Valera header 7 minutes into the second half, exploiting the Galacticos defensive frailties on set-pieces.
Abdelaziz Barrada made matter worse for the visitors who were content at cruising along and looking at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 for inspiration. The central midfielder gave Getafe the initiative, one that they held on to until the full time whistle.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/José-c19246 Mourinho was understandably displeased with the performance of his charges as he appeared before media representative in the press room at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
The Special One acknowledged that fact that Madrid players did not play at their level best and were humbled by their less famous cross town cousins.
Mourinho highlighted the second half performance by both teams during his match analysis, sharing that after dominating in the first part of the game and deservedly getting the lead. He added that Getafe did well to come back into the match, congratulating
them on the win.
“We dominated and won the first half, but we didn’t play well. They equalised and beat us in the second half, but the first half was not much different to the second. Getafe deserved to win and I congratulate them”.
“Getafe deserved to win. The players say there was a handball by Colunga, but I don’t care. They didn’t play fantastically, but they deserved to win and I congratulate them. We played badly and our performance was unacceptable. I’m not frustrated, because
the final result, in terms of the match, isn’t a surprise”.
