Mourinho is ready to face a ban for purportedly ordering two of his players during Real’s 4 goal win over Ajax to get stubbornly sent off after gathering two yellow cards in the first half of the match. His latest match-winning tricks which were rather cruel
and arrogant yet again have caused more than just raised eyebrows and for that matter there are officials, players and managers who questioned his behaviour after which UEFA was forced to make some strong decisions against him but many experts convey that
they might not be hard enough.
An announcement on Real’s official website stated:
“The Competition Committee of the RFEF has handed a two-match suspension to Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho for his dismissal in the second leg of the Copa del Rey match against Real Murcia. The body has banned for the clashes against Sporting and Athletic
‘for addressing the referee with contempt-Article 117’.”
On the other hand, Portuguese coach Mourinho told Cadena Ser radio:
“It is better that I am punished than an important player. Football is full of situations in which you lose control. The
Murcia game was very easy to referee but I don’t want to apologize.”
Madrid’s manager has been suspended for 2 UEFA Champions League matches. Real Madrid as a club have also been fined 120,000 Euros due to the “wrong and un-sportsman like behaviour of their players”. Mourinho thus is set to miss Real’s tie against Auxerre,
a match that holds no significance for the Spanish giants as they have already preserved their place in the last 16 teams of the competition.
He alone is not the only under the limelight as his accomplices in the drama, Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos, the two players that got sent off during the match for Real Madrid are fined 20,000 Euros each whereas the goalkeeper Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek
are fined 10,000 Euros and 50,000 Euros respectively. The red card suspension for both the players will place as before, which means that they will miss the match against Auxerre. Milan is the other team who qualified for the next round from Real Madrid’s
group.
UEFA released a statement clearing up their verdict on the whole corrective situation concerning Real Madrid. The ruling body said:
“The Spanish club's coach Jose Mourinho has been suspended from coaching actions for two UEFA club competition matches, of which the second is postponed for a probationary period of three years."
Real Madrid were undisputed before getting thrashed off in the form of loss to Barcelona as Mourinho’s men had won 15 out of their 19 games in the season hence far in all competitions, the left behind four ended as draws for the Los Blancos. Madrid return
to their training complex on Wednesday and it is possible that Mourinho will look into his side’s failings against Barcelona. As Barcelona presented proof for those who had a doubt that Catalans over Madrista this seems like a get up call.
