'Jose Mourinho has no problem with any club member': Real Madrid's assistant coach clears the air
Spanish giants Real Madrid’s assistant coach Aitor Karanka has insisted that manager Jose Mourinho does not have any problems at the club. Karanka cleared the air in a press conference ahead of Madrid’s Copa del Rey match against Levante.
He said, “The coach has no personal problem with any member of the club. As happens in any place, there will be points of agreement and points of disagreement.” It is customary for the head coach to speak on the pre-match press conference. Mourinho’s absence
therefore intrigued the Spanish reporters to put Karanka under added pressure.
In response to questions regarding Mourinho’s failure to speak to the press, Karanka said, “We decided that I should speak today. Mourinho spoke the other day and now I am talking. What everyone wants is unity. We are all in the same boat, and hoping to
have a good game against Levante.”
Reports of tension between Madrid’s Portuguese manager and certain members of the club, appeared after Madrid’s La Liga match against Sevilla at the Bernabeu. After a 1-0 win, Mourinho insisted that the club needs to do more to defend its players from poor
referee decisions.
Mourinho said, “There is a club, with a structure, and I want them to defend my team, not only me. I want to talk with the president. I have a good personal relationship with the club, even though we think different things.” The match against Sevilla saw
9 Madrid players booked and defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973 sent off.
It has been speculated in the Spanish media that these instructions were pointed towards Madrid’s director general http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jorge-c19120 Valdano.
Talking about the issue, club president Florentino Perez said, “It's customary for the club not to speak about the referees, and what we had to say has already been said by Jorge Valdano, who is our spokesman and best represents the image of our club. Now
we need to look to the future.”
Mourinho will now have to concentrate on the match against Levante. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629, who has featured in every competitive game for Madrid since Mourinho’s arrival, might miss the match due to illness.
