Jose Mourinho hints at starting with Cristiano Ronaldo against Tottenham Hotspur in Champions League
Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has hinted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 will be fit for the clash against Tottenham Hotspur and hopes that he will start the game.
Ronaldo suffered a hamstring injury in the match against city rivals Atletico Madrid.
The former Manchester United winger will miss Portugal’s international friendlies against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Finland-c2898 and is also doubtful for Madrid’s match against Sporting Gijon in the Spanish La Liga.
Real Madrid face Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on 5 April, 2011.
Mourinho said that Ronaldo underwent tests in Madrid which clearly showed that he will not recover in time for Portugal’s matches. The tactician hoped that Ronaldo will be fit to face the Spurs as he has been a very important part of the side and is having
a sensational season with the Los Blancos.

The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss added that Ronaldo has a very strong mentality and he is working very hard to be fit in time. He said that the striker’s return will be crucial and Madrid will be hoping that Ronaldo makes a return just in time for the clash as he
did against Olympique Lyon.
“Judging from the mentality he has, we believe he will make it, but it will be tight. A return like the one he had against Lyon to help the team will always be welcome,” added the Real Madrid manager.
Jose Mourinho also revealed that Gonzalo Higuain is closing in on a return after missing most of the ongoing 2010-11 season with an injury. He said that the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international played a practice match and is nearing his return.
