Jose Mourinho perfect for Manchester United’s future: Wesley Sneijder
Dutch International Wesley Sneijder is confident that former coach Jose Mourinho would one day manage English heavy weights Manchester United. Mourinho coached Sneijder last season, where his side Inter Milan won a first ever treble of trophies. To further elaborate a treble, Inter Milan won the Serie A, the UEFA Champions league and the Coppa Italia last season in the same season.
Mourinho however resigned from the Inter job following the UEFA Champions league final, and moved to Spanish giants Real Madrid. The coach wanted to complete a grand slam of titles, and therefore moved to Spain after winning trophies in England, Portugal and Italy.
Given Mourinho’s superb credentials, the 26-year old midfielder believes that the coach will take command of Manchester United following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. Ferguson, who has managed United for 24 successful years, is nearing his retirement owing to his age. The manager is now 68, and it would only be a matter of time before the Scott announces his retirement. Mourinho would therefore be the perfect man for the job, and Sneijder believes that Mourinho would also manage England’s national football team as well.
While talking to a reporter, the midfielder claimed that Mourinho was a huge fan of English football, and fancied it the most than any other in Europe. Wesley was therefore confidant that Mourinho would for sure return to the premier league, but the real is question is when?
Sneijder added that it is destined for Mourinho to join the Red Devils in the future, claiming that one great manager would be replaced with a coaching legend. The player however stated that if the Portuguese coach did get the offer of managing the English national side, the coach wouldn’t refuse. Sneijder claimed that Mourinho may well manage United along with the England job, as the coach was just too passionate about football.
Both Sneijder and Mourinho enjoyed a good relation with each other, and had become good friends back when Mourinho managed Inter Milan. The Dutch therefore claimed that they both had a lot of conversations on the topic, and can do a great deal for the English players. Sneijder was so convinced regarding Jose taking over at Old Trafford that he didn’t use any ifs or buts in his conversation. The player just stated “When he takes the United job”, signifying that it would only be a matter of time before something happens. Sneijder stated that following Manchester United job, the FA would offer him the England job as well owing to his undoubted success and he would take it without hesitation.
Sneijder claimed that Jose had the ability and stamina to endure both jobs at England, and manage both the sides using his full potential. He believed that Mourinho would manage both teams successfully as he is the best coach in the World, and such a feat has been seen in history.
The Dutch international said, "We are talking about the best coach in the world, and it has been done before successfully."
The player added that he would have an in-depth look at the English players while he manages Manchester United in the English Premier League, and such an arrangement would therefore be perfect for the Portuguese. The manager would have an in-depth analysis of all the English players in the premier league and can choose the best among the best.
Sneijder stated that success has always followed Mourinho, wherever he went. The player hailed the coach’s ability and stated that he makes the players believe that they are the best, and his success is not due to him buying the best players. Sneijder explained that during his time under Mourinho, the coach injected all of his squad and coaching staff with immense confidence and belief, which was crucial. The player therefore believed that English players will huge benefit from Mourinho, and would be clear favourites when you combine their quality with Mourinho’s brain.
