Jose Mourinho rubbishes Manchester City link, insists Cristiano Ronaldo is staying
Real Madrid coach, Jose Mourinho revealed there was no chance he would be leaving the La Liga giants to coach English Premier League side, Manchester City. The Portuguese manager said while speaking to reporters, “Me to Manchester City? That's impossible.”
The former Chelsea and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. While he has not denied the possibility of ending up at Old Trafford, he clearly does not wish to manage Manchester
City.
Manchester City is rumoured to be making preparations to sack current coach, Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 who has failed to lead the club to any silverware this season. While City is still in contention for the FA Cup, they face Manchester United in the semi-finals,
and are expected to not make it through to the final.
Mourinho has also been linked with Chelsea, with Blues boss, Carlo Ancelotti most likely facing a Stamford Bridge after failing to win any trophy this season. A big change a compared to his first season in charge when the Italian manager led the Blues to
their first ever domestic double.
The manager recently confessed his love for the London club, saying he was very attached to Chelsea. It seems unlikely he will be making a return, keeping in the mind his earlier exit. The Portuguese manager was sacked mid-season and replaced with Avram
Grant.
The link with Manchester United job is the only rumour that Mourinho has confirmed, admitting he would love to take over from Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson. However, he will have to wait for the Scot to retire to be able to do that.
Until then Mourinho looks set to continue with Real Madrid, who presently do not stand a chance at winning the La Liga title, but still maintain a pretty decent shot at the Champions League. Madrid defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 in the quarter-finals to
make it to the semi-finals of the European competition.
The Madrid boss was also questioned on the likelihood of star winger-c*m-striker, Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the La Liga side in favour of Serie A giants AC Milan. He did not seem to be too pleased with the speculation and denied it.
Mourinho said, “I'm not saying it's impossible, because in football you never know, and (AC Milan's owner, Silvio) Berlusconi can make a crazy offer. But it must be a true madness because Real Madrid don't want to sell Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Real Madrid have some tough fixtures coming up and while the La Liga crown is out of reach, they still have the opportunity to claim the Coppa del Rey and the Champions League. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 has proved to be essential for Madrid and it is highly unlikely
he will available in the summer.
