Jose Mourinho rules out January signings
Jose Mourinho the Real Madrid manager has said that there would be no more singings at the club in January. The Special One said that he has all that he needs in his squad and there is no need to buy players, he would build on what he has and in due time
would have a champion team.
The Spanish giants went on a spending spree last summer and spent almost 250 million Euros to bring in big names to the club. Florentino Perez the man who once again took charge of the club as president was behind the campaign to bring in stars from all
across Europe to Madrid. This summer the all whites were not that quite either, the former Champions brought in first of all the Special One Jose Mourinho as manager and later signed 6 more players.
Despite of all that Madrid are still being linked with some big name players; Fernando Liorente the Spanish striker is top on the list. Other players rumoured to be on Madrid shopping list are Wayne Rooney from Manchester United and Gareth Bale from Tottenham
Hotspurs.
But the Portuguese has categorically denied having any intentions of bringing in new players in January. He said that it is not out of the ordinary for a club like Real Madrid to be linked with big names.
"Mainly it's great players because if you talk of mediocre players’ people won't believe it”.
"It seems normal to me, but as coach I have to say not only what I think but what the club thinks and that is that this is the squad until the end of the season. These are the players which we have faith in", said Mourinho
Mourinho went on to say that the club invested a big chunk of money in 2009, and that is an investment that would take the club forward for a long time. He said that few added touches were needed and the squad was all ready. He added that yes Real Madrid
does not have a perfect squad at the moment, but actually there is nothing in the world such as a perfect squad. He went on to say that he has immense confidence in the pool of players that he does not need any more reinforcements.
Mourinho added that even if the club was to buy in January, it would be too early to comment, since things can change dramatically in a club over a period of 3 months. The former Chelsea manager said that even if you ask Jorge Valdano the director general
of the club and club president Florentino Perez, they would say the same thing. He added that if something really serious and unexpected happens and number of his big players end up injured, then one never knows but for now there are no such plans.
Real Madrid is currently on 3rd position in the Premier League table; they have not been beaten this season. From their 8 matches so far Madrid have won 6 and drawn 2, a 6-1 win against Deportivo has been their biggest win this season. While in
the champions’ league Madrid has won both of their games and are sitting on top of Group ‘I”.
Real Madrid has not won a League title in 3 seasons, and Jose Mourinho has been brought in to bring glory days back to the club. Mourinho came to Madrid after leaving the job at Inter Milan, but before he left he had won 2 League titles, 1 Copa Italia and
finally ended his time at Inter with a UEFA Champions’ League win.
