Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho feels content with the performance of his team, despite suffering a loss to fierce rivals Barcelona in Saturday’s El Clasico...
Jose Mourinho has expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his team in spite of yet another loss.
Real Madrid hosted their traditional foes at Santiago Bernabeu and were overpowered by them. The Catalans came from behind and scored three goals in order to win the away fixture 1-3.
Jose Mourinho has emphasized that Real Madrid’s title ambitions are unmoved in spite of Saturday’s defeat. He voiced his opinion, expressing that he wouldn’t consider Barcelona to be in a better position than the nine-time Champions League winners.
Los Blancos were on top of the Spanish Primera standings as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 trailed behind with a three-point gap. Following Saturday’s result, Barcelona are now at the top of the Spanish La Liga points table owing to a superior goal difference. However, Real
Madrid have the advantage of having played one game less than Barcelona.
Jose Mourinho has insisted that he would not want to switch positions with Barcelona as his side is still better off, both domestically and internationally.
While talking to the Spanish newspaper AS, Mourinho stated:
"In the Champions League, we have the best record in the history of the competition; in La Liga, no team has more points than us and we have a game in hand. There are three possibilities: we finish the year tied first with Barcelona, we lead by a point,
or we lead by three points. So I would not change for anybody.”
Real Madrid have been in terrific shape this season, having lost only two games in La Liga so far. They had won all 15 of their last played games prior to losing out to Barcelona in the weekend derby.
The Portuguese mentor emphasized that the loss will not affect the spectacular form Madrid have enjoyed so far this season.
“It's not my http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 to see it. I am dedicated to work, to try to improve and win the next game. Perhaps it is a consequence of the historical dimension of this club. It is so great that a loss becomes a problem. I'd rather lose the last game and still have
the chance to be sole leader on Saturday,” he told AS.
Madrid will now be involved in Copa Del Rey action after playing the El Clasico. Jose Mourinho’s men will try to win the European treble as they are still very strong contenders to win all three competitions.
