Jose Mourinho says Mesut Ozil & Van der Vaart important for Madrid

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has said that his new signing Mesut Ozil will be a very important player for him in the upcoming season. He said that the German midfielder is young and has a lot of promise; Mourinho added that Ozil can serve the team for a long time to come and he sees him playing at Madrid for the next decade.
The German star finalised his move to Real Madrid from Werder Bremen for a fee of 15 million Euros that is equivalent to about 12.4 million pounds.
Jose Mourinho’s team played a 1-1 draw against Standard Liege in a pre season friendly. After the match Mourinho said that Ozil is one of the best buys for the club. He added that his contract was about to run out so Real did not have to pay an insane amount of money to avail his services, and considering what he is capable of it was a pure bargain. Jose said that one of his key midfield players Kaka is out with injury for the start of the season, and that makes Ozil and Sergio Canales two of the most important players for the club.
As always whenever a new manager comes to a club, and starts bringing in players according to his liking there is fear among some players that they will not be needed anymore. Same is the case with Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart. Rafael is believed to be unsure of his place in the team after the arrival of Ozil and is believed to be looking for a way out. The Holland midfielder was on the score-sheet for Madrid in the 1-1 draw, but following the goal there were no animated celebrations. That also indicated that he was not happy at the club and was worried about his future.
However Mourinho said that Rafael not celebrating the goal does not mean anything. He said that it was just a friendly and the goal was not even celebrated by him (Mourinho), he said that no one should read too much into that.
Jose said that the signing of Ozil does not change anything, and Rafael is still an important player to the club as he was before that. He added that but he will always consider the player’s wishes and acknowledge any requests that come to him.
The Real Madrid manager said that till now he is very satisfied with the business he has done in the transfer market so far.
Considering the amount of money Real Madrid spent last year, this year certainly has been a quite one for them. Mesut Ozil is the latest signing and that too for just 12.5 million pounds. Before him Mourinho signed his team mate from Germany Sami Khedira, his former pupil Ricardo Carvalho from Chelsea, Angel Di Maria, Pedro Leon, andSergio Canales. Neither of these players were signed for huge sums of money.
The former Inter Milan boss said that the transfer market was not the same as last year. He added that last season there were big buys made by the club like Kaka and Ronaldo. Moreover, it is not every season that deals like that are made. He said that he is happy with what he has now and is convinced that his squad is complete.
Jose Mourinho said that he has always aspired to be the best, and nothing has changed for him since moving from Inter Milan. Mourinho added that Real Madrid is a club with rich history and deserves silverware and he will make sure that the club gets all it deserves this season.
