The Portuguese coach gave his thought over his opponents during the midweek as Real Madrid kick-start the UEFA Champions League against the Premier League champions, Manchester City.
Real Madrid will be facing Manchester City in the first match of the UEFA Champions League group stages.
Los Blancos have not been in the best of forms and that is one of the main reasons why there are a lot of expectations attached to this fixture.
Since Madrid will be hosting the game, in full form, no one would have betted against them. However, since they have only managed to accumulate four points from the available twelve in La Liga, many believe that Manchester City might pull off an upset at
the Santiago Bernabeu.
Manchester City recently won the Premier League and they are considered to be a tough side, especially after the inclusion of extraordinary players under the Italian coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini.
However, last year they could not produce much in the European competition, even though they had one of the strongest squads.
This time, Mancini would be ready to face the big challenge in Europe, as his side has been drawn into the group of death.
While speaking about Manchester City, Jose Mourinho praised his opponents and spoke about how they are soon going to be worthy enough to win the UEFA Champions League.
Jose Mourinho said:
“City began to spend money and buy good players. With Roberto [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323] they have done good work, buying good players and building a great team.”
“They have won the League, the Community Shield… Sooner or later they can win the Champions League if they continue this way.”
“I know we can beat them, but for us City is in a group of important teams that are candidates to win the competition and are worthy opponents in the Champions League.”
The two sides are going to face each other at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, September 18, 2012.
Both the teams are extraordinary as they are both the current champions of their respective countries and any team can come out on top as they both have players who can turn the game on its head.
