It appears that the Special One can’t help but comment about the quality of refereeing of the match officials as he voiced his opinion regarding his side’s 1-1 draw against City.
Real Madrid head coach, Jose Mourinho, has avoided taking about the match referees. However, the veteran trainer has taken a jibe at the match official who was conducting the match between Los Blancos and Manchester City.
The current Spanish champions travelled to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s men for their UEFA Champions League group stage fixture. The match was intensely important for the two teams as qualification for the knock out
stages was depending on the final stage.
To the disappointment of the Etihad Stadium faithful, the English champions were eliminated from the group stages of the European grand tournament for the second consecutive year.
The match which was heavily dominated by Madrid ended with a final result of 1-1. Although the result is enough for Los Merengues to book a place in the last 16 of the tournament, Mourinho expressed that they could have won the match.
The Spanish capital-based outfit kept dominating the match after having scored the first goal in 9 minutes. However, after the referee sent off a Madrid player, the tables turned and City equalized later on in the game.
Mourinho revealed that he personally knows the referee but maintained that it is not a big issue as this has always happened.
"I played a derby match between http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 and Milan in which most of the time I was with ten players, and end with nine, and there was also a nonexistent penalty. This time, the referee was next to the goal. I am calm and I have a ban pending. I appreciate the
gift that UEFA presented me with, a very nice plaque for the 100 matches played in the Champions League. Imagine if we the ones who went out of this group,” the manager told reporters.
“I’ve had worse moments in my Champions League career. This was a match is amongst the acceptable ones and not the dramatic ones".
