Jose Mourinho – the catalyst in action
Jose Mourinho, the current manager of Real Madrid, was born in Portugal in 1963. He was a die-hard fan of football since he was a kid. José’s father was a professional football player and he was so inspired from his father that he wanted to follow his footsteps and play professional football. During his childhood, he was also eager to update himself with the football occurrences and did not even miss out watching a single match.
Mourinhos dream was to be a renowned footballer, and be famous all over the world.  The keen football fan started playing for his team at the college, but soon he found out that he couldn’t pursue his dream as a football player due to his inability to perform well on the field. He decided to quit playing football, since he couldn’t come up with an above-the-line performance.
After the sad realization that he could not be a good player, he decided to change his line and start coaching the football teams. He had that knack to manage a team and train them well. Despite his inability to play football, his mind was full of ideas of good playing strategies and tactics. Following his new interest, he started coaching on a small scale by extending his counselling to the college and university teams.
After some years of coaching at university level, he started looking for his career as a manager on a professional level. In the beginning he became the assistant coach to some teams.  Then in year 2000, he became the head-coach of Benfica. This was the first time Jose had the chance to choose his own assistant coach. He proved his mettle as a worthy manager and the team came up with remarkable performance. In the meantime, he was offered to move to Newcastle United as an assistant coach, which he turned down.
Jose Mourinho served the club in the best possible way, but his contract wasn’t extended so he moved on to Uniao de Leiria. After showing his unmatched leadership skills in Leiria, he was acknowledged as a far-sighted manager. In 2002, he moved on to FC Porto and signed a contract with them.  Under his management, the league won the major cups and defeat the English premier teams as Manchester United. During that time, FC Porto also reigned the Portuguese League.
After great successes in Porto, there were rumours that Jose Mourinho is planning to move to the bigger English clubs. And it happened as predicted; Liverpool hired the Spanish coach Rafael Benitez, while Chelsea offered a huge deal to Jose Mourinho who accepted and moved to Chelsea in 2004.
Mourinho was confident of his abilities and named himself as “the Special One”. He radically improved the performance of the league and acted as a catalyst in action. During his stay at Chelsea, he did what he always did, help the team win. Chelsea won the premier league and was among the runners up the in the next season. He gave his heart out while managing the team and made Chelsea one of the best clubs. The league was feared because of its strategic and tactical game-play.
However, the owner of Chelsea and the coach never had the mental harmony. Surprisingly, Mourinho left Chelsea to join the Serie A club, Internazionale in 2008. Again, Mourinho showed his skills and Internazionale won the Serie A, as well as the Italian Super cup. During his time in the team, he took it to the top and made it win the 2009 UEFA Champions league by beating Bayern Munich. This was the high time for Jose Mourinho as he was able to complete the trio for the league by winning Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions league.
Jose Mourinho always wanted to coach Real Madrid.  His dream came true when Real Madrid offered him a huge contract, which he delightedly signed. Currently the astounding manager is coaching the Madrid’s.  Just like the previous teams Mourinho coached, Real Madrid is expected to rise to the top under the dynamic presence of this magician.
