Jose Mourinho wants Emmanuel Adebayor
Jose Mourinho, the manager of Real Madrid, has made it clear that he has set his sights on Manchester City forward, Emmanuel Adebayor.
Mourinho, who took over Real Madrid at the start of the season, said that he is looking out for a front line striker due to a long term injury to his Argentine forward, Gonzalo Higuain- he will be unable to play at least 8 more weeks after his knee surgery.
According to a British newspaper, Jose Mourinho said that he had admired Adebayor while working at Chelsea as the manager. He went on to say that he wanted to bring the player to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 some day, and that Adebayer would have made an ideal pair up front
with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Togo-c3022 international.
Currently, Adebayor is under contract at Manchester City, and it is not at all a secret that he is not happy due to the lack of game time. The former Arsenal player has been on the sidelines as Carlos Tevez has been stealing the limelight, while Italian
striker, Mario Balotelli has been attracting much attention too. Now, though, with Balotelli out, there may be a change in fortunes for Adebayor. Manchester City manager, Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 gets
fit. So a lot now depends on the severity of Balotelli’s injury.
Lack of chances, though, may not be the only reason behind Adebayor leaving Manchester City. The Togo international was reported to have had an unfortunate fall out with team mate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure, on the training pitch. To further add to his misery, City have
also signed a new striker- Edin Dzeko.
Adebayor was brought to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 by Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger in 2006 for 3 million pounds. He was nick-named baby Kanu due to the striker’s resemblance to the former Arsenal striker, Nwankwo Kanu. He scored in his first appearance for the Gunners, when
he was sent in the field in the League game against Birmingham. The player quickly established himself as a front-line striker for Arsenal, especially after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918 left the club. However, a fall out with the manager, later, led him to leave the club.
Real Madrid boss, Jose Mourinho said that he would be inclined towards looking for a player who is not cup-tied in the UEFA Champions League, and thus most of the top strikers in Europe would not be considered. Emmanuel Adebayor also happens to satisfy this
condition, which makes it all the more likely that Mourinho would try to get him as soon as possible.
For now, Madrid may be more interested in offering a loan deal. It is believed that Jose Mourinho is ready to pay his full wage while he would be on loan plus a million pounds to make the deal.
The January transfer window is still open for 2 and a half more weeks, and if Madrid are to make an offer, they would have to act fast. Everyone knows that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 is not happy at Manchester City, and a striker with his quality would not last long
in the market.
