Jose Mourinho wants two seasons to bring Real Madrid to their paramount form
The Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho was hailed by many as “the Chosen One” however the new Real Madrid manager does not seem all that sure about his debutant campaign for the Spanish club.
In his most recent statements the man in charge of the Los Blancos has expressed that his team will not reach to their full potential until the second season of his rule at Bernabeu. The manager reckoned that though he will work hard with the team and the team has fully confided their trust in him, he will not be able to take the men of Madrid to their optimum performance before his second season of management with them.
While speaking to media the former manager of Inter Milan, Mourinho, explained that he needed more time with the team than he at first anticipated. No doubt his team was one of the best teams in the world and he has the best men playing for him but that did not mean he was a magician and could somehow manage miracles by pulling the Champions League trophy out of the hat.
Mourinho happens to be the most sought after manager of the World, being just 47 years old he has attained most of the prestigious and coveted titles, leagues and championships in the world. In addition to that he has accomplished all that in different leagues in the world, for instance he has achieved all that he could hope for in the Portuguese League, Premier League, Italian League: Serie A and now he is heading to make history at the Spanish League: La Liga.
With clubs like Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan, he has won nearly won all titles that he could have laid his hands on. The interesting thing about Mourinho is that he brings about the change in a club in his very first season and this has given him a great edge to make the record of achieving all titles in the major leagues of the world.
There are very few coaches in the past who came near to this accomplishment, leave alone the situation in which they would have actually achieved it. Now at such a young age he has already carved his name in to history. Still being in San Siro, Mourinho had declared that he wanted to go to Real Madrid after he had made Inter Milan the winners of Champions League which clearly defines Mourinho as a hunter of glory and an avid challenger in life.
He stated that his life would be incomplete if he was not able to manage the Los Merengues and smugly added that the Real Madrid board will do whatever it takes to attain his services. That eventually did happen as the Madrid men ended up paying for Mourinho so that he could replace the sacked Chilean Manuel Pellegrini.
Last season Pellegrini spent about 250 million pounds on refurnishing his squad but he got nothing more than humiliation in the Champions League, where they faced another early exit and were unable to capture the La Liga title again. This time Mourinho has been handed the cash and he is bidding on all his dream team players but so far his list is turning into more of a bucket list as even at Real Madrid the legendary manager is unable to convince his favourite players to come and play for him.
Mourinho has now signed in a four year deal with Real Madrid after leading Inter to record treble victories. In his latest press conference the maestro has stated, “The process of assimilation means it is only really in the second season that a team has acquired the right systems and a philosophy of play”.
He continued, “I have always said that my teams were at their peak from the second season. By chance, each of them won something from the first season. I hope that will be the same at Real”.
Mourinho is currently in Los Angeles where he is preparing his men for the preseason tournaments and friendlies. In the press conference he also admitted that he had misjudged the abilities of some players in the past and at the moment he was very impressed with the squad he already had.
He ended with commenting, “I have come across players who were better than I was expecting and for others it was quite the opposite”.
