Jose Mourinho’s Reign as Real Madrid’s Coach: Lampard in Exchange for Kaka
The Newly appointed Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho, has already set his sights on Chelsea star Frank Lampard and is willing to offer Madrid’s Kaka in exchange. Mourinho will be unveiled as Madrid new coach today and has already focused himself on building a new team at Madrid. Mourinho is a long admirer of English mid-fielder, thanks to the time he spent at Chelsea. He even tried to capture the mid-fielder to Inter Milan two years back but the Series A champion’s offer was not enough to lure Lampard at that time. However, the million dollar question is, can he neglect Madrid’s offer this season and refuse to play for the biggest club in the world under the best manager of his time? Will he prefer to stay at Chelsea? And Is Kaka’s time with Madrid already over? These are the questions popping through headlines these days in Spanish La-Liga.
After overcoming a run of injuries that barred him from playing at his finest level during 2008, Kaká recovered to look better than ever. At the age of 27, and as part of a dazzling Real Madrid, he possesses everything to succeed in any League. If he shows the same level of his last few appearances with the national team in the Confederations Cup and the World Cup qualifiers, he should help Brazil bid for the title in the 2010 World Cup. In his finest form, he alone is enough to win titles as he did for AC Milan two years back. He is regarded as among few of those players in the world, who alone can offer a club numerous attacking opportunities in big matches.
According to a news report, Mourinho is likely to return to Chelsea and Premiere League players in an attempt to restore Madrid’s domestic and Champions League dominance. Chelsea star striker Drogba, highly apprehended defender Ashley Cole and Liver Pools Gerard are on the likely list of Mourinho to join him for the next season.
Current Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, is a huge fan of Kaka having worked with the Brazilian at AC Milan, however the prospect of losing Lampard along with Drogba and Cole, is certainly not going to appeal to the Italian. Especially as he prepares to defend the west London club's Barclays Premier League crown and readies his troops for another assault on the UEFA Champions League.
According to the newspaper, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is also firmly against any swap deal involving Lampard and Kaka, with the Russian oligarch backing Ancelotti to make a cash bid for Real's unsettled Brazilian ace instead. Despite Real being desperate for a swap deal after the club's hierarchy tightened, the Bernabeu purse strings in the wake of last summer's immense spending spree, the prospect of a such a deal looks slim.
However, the possibility of Kaka moving to Stamford Bridge in a straight cash transfer is distinctly plausible given the 28-year-old's poor first season in Madrid and his concerns that he may not be guaranteed a starting place under Mourinho. Kaka has already showed some signs of discomfort at Madrid after the arrival of Mourinho and looks like he is now destined to leave Madrid. This almost look definite because Mourinho would need some cash to bring some of English players to Madrid, in pursuit of building a team for next season and selling Kaka will provide him with enough cash as the Brazilian striker is still a respectful and feared figure when he is on the pitch.
On contrary, although for Lampard Chelsea time is not over, and is still respected in Stamford, it will be a lot difficult to deny an offer made by Madrid. He already has given a lot to English football and fans would love to see him doing the same to the Spanish league. Whatever may happen, one thing is sure; we would see some of EPL players playing in white and black next season with likes of Stephen Garrard and Frank Lampard linked with Bernabeu.
