The Portuguese tactician insisted that failure in the elite European club competition has no say on his long-term future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With a never-seen-before stranglehold over first team affairs in Spanish football, Jose Mourinho is beginning to repay the faith put in him by President Florentino Perez as Los Blancos enjoy the security of 10 points at the top of La Liga rankings.
The Santiago Bernabeu-based outfit have performed exceptionally well in the current edition of the UEFA Champions League and are on course of progressing to the quarter-finals of the competition at the expense of Russian club, CSKA Moscow.
Ahead of the second-leg in the Spanish capital, Jose Mourinho’s men welcome the Russian Premier League outfit, after playing an enterprising 1-1 draw away from home. With the tie evenly balanced, anything can happen; however, Madrid are still considered
to be the favourites to win the two-legged affair.

Mourinho praised the Army Men for their attacking nature and added that they are a strong side who have performed consistently for a long time.
Continuing on the topic, he highlighted CSKA’s threat from the counterattack and cautioned Los Blancos players to be alert at all times.
The two-time Champions League winner also asked the fans to show their support for the team as they resume their European journey.
"The best team does not always win. It will be a very difficult game. They have been a strong team for many years now.
"They are attacking very fast and are dangerous on the counterattack. We have to be alert, and need the support of the fans."

"My future does not depend on the outcome of this Champions League tie. Unless the club say otherwise, I will stay here even if we lose against CSKA. My decisions don't depend on the result of one game," the 49-year-old said at a press conference.
The crunch Champions League fixture kicks off at 20.45CET at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, March 14th.
