Barcelona head coach, Josep Guardiola, recently paid a tribute to his players and admitted that all the success they have received in the recent years, it is all completely deserved by them.
The current Spanish and European champions have won a lot of silverware while playing under http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s former midfielder, Josep Guardiola.
The Catalan mentor took charge of La Blaugrana back in 2008, after Frank Rijkaard left the Spanish giants. Since Guardiola’s arrival at the Nou Camp, Barcelona have managed to win 13 trophies in total.
These 13 trophies include three Spanish La Liga titles along with two UEFA Champions League titles. Barcelona are also currently the favourites to retain their Champions League crown, and in case they are able to do so, Guardiola’s men will write their names
in the history books.
Even though all the changes have taken place after the arrival of Josep Guardiola at the Catalan capital, the Spanish mentor has given all the credit to his players.
While giving an interview to the press before the game against Racing Santander, the Catalan coach openly said that all the success came with the help of the players, who are top-notch, and when put together, they can definitely make one of the best teams
in the history of the game.
The Catalan coach was quoted as saying:
“Let it be clear to everyone, we’ve won so much simply because we’ve been better than the rest,” Guardiola told reporters.
“Winning 13 out of 16 titles is all down to the athletes. In the end this game always belongs to the players.”
“We’ve won because we’ve got some fantastic players. This is all down to the athletes, who have performed so well over the whole period.”
With Real Madrid winning their La Liga fixture over the weekend, it means that Barcelona have to win, in order to cut the gap back to 10 points.
With a 10-point gap between the two Spanish giants, Real Madrid are currently favourites to win La Liga. However, after a 7-1 win over Leverkusen, in the UEFA Champions League, Barcelona have given out a warning to all the clubs in Europe, that they are
definitely not out of the European competition.
