Josep Guardiola hails the win against Milan as an “honour”
Barcelona were able to win the UEFA Champions League away leg against AC Milan on Wednesday. Josep Guardiola was very pleased with his side’s performance on the night and he expressed his confidence at the fact that his team will be fighting for silverware
till the end of the season.
Josep Guardiola expressed how proud he was of his team’s 2-3 win against AC Milan. The win would help them top the Group H of the UEFA Champions League. Barcelona are now five points above Milan in the points table.
The Catalan head coach said that he was pleased how his team performed at the San Siro. He also explained that his side is still able to win more trophies this season.

While talking about the win against Milan, Josep Guardiola explained how it was an honour to beat a prestigious team like Milan in their home ground. He said:
"It was a true honour to have beaten such a prestigious team like Milan at the historic San Siro. I'm pleased that the people who watched the game had fun.”
He further spoke about the game and how it is an honour to beat Milan away from home. He said:
"We played a good away game, and now to come here and generate so many chances against such a big team, with such history and tradition... it gives us pride. It’s an honour to beat Milan at San Siro.”
He also told the press how his side played the game just to win it and did not want to sit back and defend in order to pick up a draw in this difficult away fixture. He said:
"The lads competed to win. I saw things that make me rather optimistic for the future. Once again, I can say that we will compete until the end and try to win something."
Josep Guardiola’s men will now be playing the Spanish La Liga fixture on Saturday. The Catalans will be away from home in order to face Getafe.
