Josep Guardiola “has faith” in David Villa
Barcelona’s head coach, Josep Guardiola, has recently stated that he has all the confidence in the misfiring Spanish striker, David Villa. Barcelona have not been scoring a lot of goals even with Lionel Messi finding the back of the net usually. Andres Iniesta
has been in good goal scoring form as well but David Villa simply doesn’t seem too comfortable on the left wing.
Recently a report suggested that David Villa might be on his way out of the Spanish club. The news also stated that the reason might not only be the left wing role, which he doesn’t like, but it might also be because of the fight in which Villa and Messi
exchanged a few words.
Despite such rumours, Lionel Messi came out on the press and admitted that there was no such thing between the two star Barcelona players.
It is true that Josep Guardiola has been benching http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Villa-c10629 a lot but the Catalan coach recently stated that there is no specific reason for benching the best striker in the history of Spanish football.
The 29-year old was benched during the game against Real Zaragoza. Guardiola opted for a totally new attacking trio of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 won 4-0 later on. However, David Villa
did join the team as a substitute.
Villa came on during the second half and managed to score the last goal of the game. It was an assist from Isaac Cuenca which helped the Spaniard score his only goal of the game.
Josep Guardiola, after the game, stated that even though Villa has not been scoring a lot of goals this season, he still has trust in the striker. He said:
"When I tell you that I have a lot of trust and faith in Villa, I mean it," Guardiola told a post-match conference.”

When Josep Guardiola was questioned about Villa’s presence in the first team, he said:
"I cannot justify every time he has been a substitute. Not everyone can play, but I trust everyone. I know every player and what they can bring to the fare."
Even though Villa did not feature in the first team, many predict that the Spaniard was probably rested for the UEFA Champions League game against Milan scheduled to take place on Wednesday.
