The team said that he's fine and will pitch Friday. Didn't they tell us that a couple of times already?

  1. He was said to have a injury. They Placed him on DL but it might be a good rest for him for postseason. I hope that his injury isn't THAT serious.

  2. You never can tell when someone goes to see Dr. Andrews. I think he'll be OK to pitch, but I'm not sure how he'll hold up through September.

I might hate the Red Sox, but I certainly don't hope for Beckett to be too hurt. I do know that if you don't have him, the Red Sox have next to no chance of repeating. Matsuzaka's stats don't indicate how iffy he's been and Lester, while strong, isn't the postseason guy that Beckett is.

  3. In a way, but he was only down in Mississippi for a day so it can't be that bad. I heard next week against Texas

  4. Dr. Andrews Didn't find anything wrong with him he should return soon... I think he'll miss one more start though...

  5. The Orthopedic guru, Dr. Andrew's of Birmingham, Alabama, has apparently diagnosed as a mild strain. So it appears surgery is not necessary.

  6. The visit to Andrews was just to ease Beckett's mind. He was diagnosed with a mild strain and a little bit of inflammation. The DL move is retroactive to Aug 18th, so he will be able to pitch the middle of next week sometime. The DL move was made just to free up the roster spot to bring in another pitcher so that the other 4 rotation guys don't have to pitch on only 4 days rest. I'm sure once his elbow feels better he will back to his old self and a vital asset to the team in October. Remember, they have been winning without him, so I don't think they necessarily need him until the post season

  7. not so good if he has numbness cause that means that a ligament could be out of place and messing with his nerves of he has a small blod clot
