Josh Beckett looking to come out of Spring Training healthy
The Boston Red Sox are living up to the hype in the Spring Training camp as they gain momentum for the coming season. With the Grapefruit League progressing well, the club players in Fort Myers, Florida, are not wasting any time in getting ready. Their intention
is to beat the clock for a better form. Josh Beckett, who was fairly weak last season in his pitching, is eyeing a healthy departure from the camp.
"I feel different just walking around," Beckett said. "It's more stability than anything. It's not that you like feel like you're stronger. You just feel a little more stable. Maybe balance would be a good word for it. I feel it all day long."
His 5.78 Earning Runs Average was considered disappointing and apart from facing physical problems in the field, the mental pressure limited his healthy deliverance at the stadium.
"There's some mental things, but I'd say a large majority of it is physical," Beckett said. "Some of that can criss-cross a little bit. Mentally, you have to remember yourself being healthy, because a lot of times when you look back, all you have is the
last thing you did. If you weren't healthy, that's what you remember."
Nevertheless, it is interesting to understand what hurt Josh Beckett in 2010. Most people claimed Beckett’s frustration was sandwiched between his motivation and back. Manager, Terry Francona was able to comment on the situation. His assessment of the pitcher
was that the ball thrower never got sidetracked. In the skipper’s opinion, Beckett was fighting the negativity.
Francona went on to say that it felt more like an endless spiral that kept pulling him down in the wrong direction. Nevertheless, the pitcher is looking at a healthy season coming ahead of the regular Major League Baseball tenure. Health is the major concern
and the pitcher iterated that this time period has always been about that for him ever since he joined the team in 2006.
