Josh Dirksen leaves Bonfire Snowboarding to ride for Patagonia
The legendary snowboarder from America, Josh Dirksen, has finished his association with Oregon’s Bonfire Snowboarding, a company that produces freeride and freestyle snowboarding apparel. The Oregon-based snowboarder has decided to ride for Patagonia, another
action sports apparel company, instead.
In a farewell press release, Bonfire Snowboarding extended a sincere thank you to Dirksen in order to appreciate him for his priceless services to the company. According to Bonfire, Dirksen had remained a valuable asset for the company over the last 10 years.
Through his expertise and knowledge of snowboarding and the factors that surround it, he had consistently helped the company in the product development process and creating an impressive brand image. He had also served as a huge inspiration for the entire
company.
Bonfire further continued to appreciate Dirksen’s time with the company, saying, “Whether obsessing over tiny details that made the difference between good and great or blowing our minds on his snowboard, Josh’s time here was something that we at Bonfire
are all thankful for.”
In the end, the apparel company wished him the best of luck in his next chapter of the snowboarding career and thanked him for making Bonfire achieve the reputation that it enjoys today.
The heart-touching farewell statement from his ex-sponsor compelled the legendary snowboarder to return the compliments. Dirksen said that the decision to move to Patagonia from Bonfire had not been easy for him. He had always considered Bonfire as the best
snowboard company in terms of quality products, inspirational teams and unique ideas. He felt very fortunate to have had a chance of becoming a part of the team for a whole decade and felt that if it was not for their support and clothes then he would not
have been able to make a career. He thanked the Bonfire team for everything they had done for him.
After going through the two statements, one starts wondering if there was really any real need for the relationship between Bonfire and Dirksen to end. Both seem to be extremely happy with each other. However, Dirksen removed the confusion by explaining
the reason for his decision to move to Patagonia.
Dirksen explained that his requirements in the mountains had changed in recent times. Rather than just the best clothes for snowboarding, he now required the best gear for everything that came in between, such as camping out in the mountain in temperatures
below -20 degrees Fahrenheit. He felt that Patagonia is better equipped to meet his requirements. That is why he is looking forward to work with them to come up with the best clothes for snowboarding in the mountains.
Dirksen further added, “I'm also impressed with Patagonia's efforts involving the environment. The mountains have given me so much in my life. I have tried to keep the world clean and beautiful for ourselves and future generations. Patagonia inspires me
to try harder.”
Enjoying a career that is undoubtedly a desire and an envy of many, Dirksen has been shining for the last decade without losing any brightness. The veteran snowboarder has progressed to the point where pulling tricks on well-groomed snow and winning contests
have lost their thrill. Instead, he spends most of his time riding powder.
A celebrated rider in the snowboarding community, Dirksen has worked with the likes of Jeremy Jones and other exciting athletes in films that have helped to not only progress snowboarding, but also earn it a reputation of one of the most exciting sport in
the world.
