Josh Edmondson signed a two-year deal with Team Sky
Team Sky continues to extend its long roster for the season ahead and Josh Edmondson is the latest inclusion on the British side after the cyclist received a two-year contract from the team.
The Brit was excited after securing his future with one of the best professional teams of the world and is hoping to find the right momentum to help the team early on the season.
“I’m really excited to be joining Team Sky, and to be taking this next step in my career,” he noted.
Josh further added that, “It’s an amazing set up and a huge project. Meeting the team you can see that it is one big unit and that the support you get - with the best coaches and nutritionists in the world - is second to none".
 “I see myself as a climbing specialist but my main aim with Team Sky is to develop my tour riding and get used to competing alongside the best riders in the world,” he concluded.
The British team had an outstanding 2012 season and filled its bag with several top performances throughout the season and topped the UCI World Tour team’s rankings.
It claimed a total number of 1767 UCI points to achieve the top position with Bradley Wiggins contributing the maximum number of 601 UCI points.
Christopher Froome (376 UCI points), Edvald Boasson (317 UCI points), Rigoberto Uran Uran (199 UCI points) and Michael Rogers adding 194 points to help the team reach the top spot.
Team Katusha secured the second position with 1273 points, while Team Liquigas-Cannondale (1197 UCI points), Team Omega Pharma-Quick Step (1162 UCI points) and Team Movistar (952 UCI points) occupied the third, fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Team Sky General Manager has signed several young riders on its squad to blend in the experience with the youth in order to ensure that the team gets the most out of the new season.
America’s Joe Dombrowski and Ian Boswell along with the Italian young gun, Dario Cataldo all have joined the team for and are hoping to make full use of this opportunity by helping the team in the season ahead.
