Josh Hamilton content with homer, will not lose sleep over Game 6 defeat
Josh Hamilton may not be on top of his form but he proved many of his critics wrong on Thursday, October 27, when he pulled a two- run home run in the 10th inning to lead Elvis Andrus home for a 9 – 7 score line. Many baseball experts though the
left groin strain injury problem was getting to the star but at the end of the day, it made little impact on the player as drew his shot through the right field. The Rangers lost the game 10 – 9 against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6 but that will not affect
Hamilton.
The star was pegged down for a significant role in Game 6 at the Busch Stadium in St. Louis and he provided his team with the uplift they needed. It is only a shame the hurlers were not able to protect the lead in the 10th inning as the Cardinals
pulled two runs back to level the game for the 11th inning.
Nevertheless, Hamilton now has a home run to his name in this postseason and his batting average has risen to .273. The 2010 American League Most Valuable Player has eight runs to his name while he harbours 12 RBIs. He will be hoping to repeat his achievement
again in Game 6 at the Busch Stadium.
"It's about time," Hamilton said. "But you have to finish the game out. We didn't get it done tonight."
"I'm not going to lose any sleep over it tonight," he said. "I'm going to do everything I can do to prepare. Guys were already talking about it right after the game. It's not easy, but we have to shake it off and come back tomorrow. ... It's the last game
and it's going to be pretty good."
The Cardinals are looking to win the Series as they are 3 – 3 in the competition. Hamilton will be up to his best as the Major League Baseball season sets to conclude in exciting fashion. As the games close out for the year, Hamilton will join a list of
Rangers squad players to recuperate from treatment on their respective injuries.
