Josh Hamilton happy after slamming Texas Rangers to a victory over the Cleveland Indians 9-1
Josh Hamilton was instrumental on Wednesday, September 14 when the Texas Rangers pummelled the Cleveland Indians 9-1 at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The 2010 American League Most Valuable Player smashed a grand slam in the fourth against the Indians’
David Huff and guided his team to an important win that keeps them three wins clear of the Los Angeles Angels.
Hamilton had a few words to say after the game and his immediate comment sparked curiosity in the press.
"CC Carpet," Hamilton said.
The Texas outfielder has been involved in a sponsorship deal with the Dallas carpeting company that offer refunds to customers if Hamilton smashes a grand slam.
Fortunately for those fans who have been customers of the company after August 29, they can redeem their expenses. For Hamilton, it is something to think about. After all, making the Texan populace happy can be considered a civil service to the community.
"The situation doesn't come up that often, and when it does, you can't help but think about it," Hamilton said.
The left-fielder is looking strong and his recent knock has gotten him to a .296 batting average. On Wednesday, he went 1-for-4. He was walked at the start of the fourth and he scored his first run of the game from a Michael Young RBI double. His next plate
appearance produced a grand slam that got Ian Kinsler, Craig Gentry and Yorvit Torrealba home.
In the previous encounter he smashed a homer against Indians’ starter, Justin Masterson. There has been a pattern in Hamilton’s hitting stride, this month.
"The last two or three days, I've felt back to my old self," Hamilton said. "See it if it's up, swing at it. If it's not, try to let it go and get on base for [Michael Young] and Adrian [Beltre] to drive me in."
With a few days left before the regular season ends, it is important to see the Rangers keep Hamilton in form. Qualifying for the post season is his top priority.
