1 Josh Hayes Erion Honda Honda CBR600RR

2 Chaz Davies Attack Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-6R

3 Steve Rapp Attack Kawasaki Kawasaki ZX-6R

This was the podium for the Dytona 200 race, however Josh Hayes's team was DQ'd for using a dodgy crankcase. Read here : http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/Mar/080308jhdqt.htm

So if thats the case, did Chaz Davies win the Daytona 200 ???

It would look that way. I really hope so, we ( the Brits ) have never done it. Not even WSB King Foggy could do it.

  1. I just now saw the story in the American Motorcyclist Association web site, disqulified over a change in paint. As for the winner, yes it was won by Chaz Davies on a silver platter. Here's the official word from AMARacing:

"Josh Hayes Disqualified From Today’s Daytona 200

Josh Hayes was disqualified from today’s Daytona 200 following a customary and mandatory technical inspection of the top three finishers’ motorcycles in the Daytona 200, round one of the AMA Formula Extreme Series.

Upon this inspection, a technical infraction was found. The #1 Erion Racing Honda CBR600RR’s crankshaft was polished, surface treated and metal was removed from it. This is in violation of the 2008 AMA rulebook section 5.4, the text of which can be seen below.

    Page 47: Rulebook Section 5.4

    5.4 Multi-cylinder liquid cooled engines

The following engine components may not be altered from the originally homologated model except as noted:

    b. Homologated crankshaft

    1. Bearing surfaces may be polished or surface treated.

In addition, two other motorcycles were randomly picked to undergo technical inspections.

  2. Hi Wiggysan.Looks that way.Could this be a renaissance for british riders in general.Who could have predicted JT doing so well and making it look so easy,Lorenzo was pushing hard last night, and for that reason I've put him down as a dnf on rideontwo.com.

  3. Bu***r...... I have not seen the race yet. I recorded it on motors last night and was going to watch it as a warm up for the GP boys ..... never mind it reminds me to watch everything live because this kind of thing always happens.

Soon be beer o clock Wiggysan.  great news for Chaz. I'm a bit disappointed that the 2 big guns deemed the track too dangerous.

Gives chaz a head start though.
