Josh Howard for Josh Smith?

Question

There's rumors about Dallas talking to the Hawks about doing a trade including Josh Howard for Josh Smith.. I'm a Mavs fan and I think it would be a good trade.. I'm tired of seeing the inconsistency of J-Ho.. Even though we just got the high-flyer Gerald Green, it would be nice to have another !

Would Josh Smith fit in with the style of play with the Mavs??

Also, what will be the starting lineups?

Josh Howard doesn't play defense. Josh Smith does and therefor a straight up trade for Howard and Smith will never ever happen.

Dallas has offense, Josh Smith provides them with better Defense and athleticism.  Plus, he hasn't reached his potential yet, I think Howard is already at his peek.  If Smith improves his outside shot watch out, I'd pick Smith over Howard any day.

I think he is a great fit, jason kidd is used to playing with players like him.

Starting Lineup:

Center: Dampier/Diop

PF: Dirk Nowitzki

SF: Josh Smith

SG: Jason Terry/Eddie Jones/Stackhouse

PG: Jason Kidd

I think they would improve and make a run towards the west finals.

good trade for the mavs, sucks for the hawks.  hawks really need to resign Josh Smith! that guy is a beast

Where did you read or hear that rumor? Would you please give the link to that rumor? I'm a Mavs fan too. Yeah he'll be nice and he'll be the future. His dunking abilities can space up the floor for Dirk and Terry to shoot 3s. Also, since Dirk is a big guy who's always on the outside, Kidd and Smith could form a rebounding tandem which would be a big help for Damp and Diop. The Mavs also drafted Shan Foster. I'm just not sure if they'll use him this season.
