Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran has completed his loan move to Swansea City for the remainder of the season and he revealed midfielder Frank Lampard had played a big role in the move.
The 18-year-old decided to make a loan move away from Stamford Bridge after he realized he would have limited first team opportunities at the London side. He will be joining Swansea City with expectations of playing in the starting XI for the remainder of
the season.
Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers was also looking to bring in McEachran on a loan move since the summer but was unable to do so earlier. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international has now joined the newly promoted side and will remain with them until the end
of the season.
The reason for McEachran’s move is mostly regular first team football and the young midfielder revealed how http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 had a major role in his move. He admitted the 33-year-old had urged him to join Swansea, having joined them on a loan move himself all
the way back in 1995.
McEachran said in an interview:
“I spoke to Frank (Lampard) a few times before I came down here, and he told me I would love it. He said it is a really nice place with great fans.
I watch Frank in training every day, he always talks to me and that. I aspire to be a player like him.
I had a few options, but I thought Swansea would be the best club for me with their style of play.”
The Blues youngster himself was pleased with the move to Swansea City, especially because of their style of play. He revealed he was certain the move would go well, having already spoken to Rodgers and having been given various guarantees about it.
McEachran continued:
“The style of football Swansea play means it could really good or it could go terrible, but Brendan has stuck by it and everything, and they have done really well. I can't wait to play now.”
McEachran made his senior debut for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in 2010 and has gone on to make 22 appearances in all competitions before his move to Swansea was finalized.
