Josh McEachran could leave Chelsea on a loan move, leaves decision to Andre Villas-Boas
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 youngster Josh McEachran revealed he had asked new manager Andre Villas-Boas to send him out on a loan, but was now looking forward to making his mark in the first team. The 18-year-old England under-21 international was highly impressive last season
under former Italian boss Carlo Ancelotti and continued with his top form in pre-season.
Ancelotti’s successor Villas-Boas had the option of sending McEachran out on a loan move at during the summer transfer window, but decided to keep him. The midfielder had done extremely well since then, showing footballing maturity beyond his years. However,
he feels he wasn’t certain if he would get a chance at regular football at Stamford Bridge.
McEachran revealed that had been the reason why he had asked the Portuguese boss for a loan move to another side, a club which would guarantee him a place in the starting XI. He admitted he had also considered the possibility of a loan after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 national
team manager Fabio Capello had mentioned that he felt the midfielder would benefit from a loan move.
However, McEachran revealed he would only consider a loan move now if Villas-Boas felt like it was a good idea, since the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 boss was his manager and not Capello. He admitted that a loan move could go through later, in the winter transfer window
as opposed to in the last few days of the current transfer window.
McEachran said while speaking to reporters:
“I did ask to go out on loan at the start of the season but Andre said he wants me to stay because he thinks I will get enough games here.
I saw in the paper that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello wanted me to go on loan to get more experience but Andre is my manager and if he wanted me to go on loan, that's what I'd do.”
Many other young Chelsea players left the club due to lack of first team playing opportunities, the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Mancienne-c25332 and Jack Cork. McEachran however, intended to remain at his boyhood club and fight for his place in the squad. He revealed it was
an honour playing for one of the oldest teams in the English Premier League.
McEachran felt the Villas-Boas’ signings in the summer transfer window proved the young manager was thinking about the future. He has mostly brought in young players such as Oriol Romeu, Thibaut Courtois and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Romelu-Lukaku-c31672. The English midfielder felt the
inclusion of younger players in the squad was essential in developing them into top players.
He revealed:
“He has just signed Romelu Lukaku, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Oriol-c28659 Romeu and Thibaut Courtois, three players of a similar age to me. So we all have to work hard in training and make sure we take our opportunities when they come.”
