Josh Reddick expresses delight over Oakland Athletics’ win against Seattle Mariners – MLB News
The Oakland Athletics have certainly bounced back coming into mid season break with their late thrust especially against the Seattle Mariners’ series. The A's performed tremendously and defeated them 2-1 in their three-match regular series encounter of 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Outfielder Josh Reddick, who has also been playing consistently since July 6, is expressing his delight with great enthusiasm over his team’s tremendous effort just before mid season break. This win has given the A’s a decent third position in the American League West Division with a winning percentage of .500.
"I don't mind it. I can dish it and I can take it, I was just happy it was me for once. It feels good to be on the receiving end." Reddick said with confidence.
The A’s entire roster played a combined game against the Mariners and gave no chance to their dire offence to take control of the game at any point.
Reddick especially, remained on his top form during the series. He performed in all three games and made it possible for the A’s to take the series in quite a comprehensive manner.
In Sunday’s last and third game of the series, Reddick’s game ending double play also earned him a great victory for the Athletics.
"Oh, you could see them," A's manager Bob Melvin said. "It was like the movie The Birds."
Later in the game everybody in the A’s roster appreciated Reddick and his game ending performance. Jemile Weeks commented on the performance of Reddick and said, "We couldn't wait, He deserved it, he deserved everything. You've got the white baseballs with the white seagulls out there, you have to distinguish between the two sometimes with the sun, At the end of the day we fought through the seagulls and made it happen."
Currently, the A’s’ three-year veteran Reddick is hitting with an average of .268 along with 20 homers, 43 RBIs and .348 OBP. This is a healthy sign for him that he has established his game in the first half of the season as with the arrival of second half of the season after mid season break, Reddick’s game will further shine and provide stability to Oakland.
