Well its great for the Grizz ,By doing that it makes it look like they want to win.I'm sure teams like Clippers,Warriors don't like it much because now the Grizz have past them by.

The Hawks wont match just look at there history!!

The Hawks have been a poorly run franchise for quite some time. I'm sure whatever they do will wind up being the wrong thing.

After the Celtics beat them, there was all of this talk about them being the future of the NBA. They can't even keep their young players.

That is a lot of money to offer a guy with no jump shot. The Hawks won't match that offer. All he can do is dunk and block shots.

I think the Hawks are idiots if they don't match it.  That is the going rate for a player of his pedigree.  If the Hawks don't try and sign him, they are just sending a message to their fans that they don't care about winning.  There is nothing worse in sports for a fan than having a cheap ownership group that isn't committed to competing.  Hopefully for Hawks fans, they match.  Otherwise, it's back to the cellar.

The Hawks should match any offer. The difference between the Hawks and Grizzlies is that the Hawks have enough ballhandlers for Smith to not have to create his own plays. Smith has shown that he's a very inconsistent passer, but when he has other playmakers alongside, he is able to be affective. He'd help the Grizzlies on defense, but he certainly doesn't have much leadership capacity yet.
