Athletic Bilbao president, Josu Urrutia, is stunned by the recent leaks from the dressing room and says that this incident will help no one and denied that the recordings were an "inside job".
Bilbao’s problems are just mounting by the day. It all started with their horrible start to the season.
What came next was the deteriorating relationship between the manager, Bielsa, and the president of the club.
The rumors that their star, Fernando Llorente, is considering to leave the club after he had an argument with the coach that led to his expulsion from the training ground have surely added more drama to the saga.
What have been emerging lately from the club are the mysterious dressing room leaks that have caused problems for the club and its president, Urrutia, and are currently not going down well for the president of the club.
“I think we should try and regain some discretion and I have not heard Bielsa's talk, because what happens in the dressing room is private, and nothing to do with me,” Urrutia said.
President, Urrutia, denied and distanced himself and the club from the rumors and allegations suggesting that the dressing room leaks were an inside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
"This almost defamation and it’s completely untrue that the club is behind this. I don't know how anyone could dare to say such a thing,” retorted Urrutia.
The president also talked about the issues surrounding Javi Martinez‘s return to Lezama training ground and the want-away striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Llorente-c13671, and suggested that he is willing to sit down with the player if he reconsiders his position.
“The issue of the fence and Javi http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468 is sad. I tried to deal with it internally.”
“Llorente is a great player, if he reconsiders his position I wouldn't mind resuming [contract] talks. But of course, we have no evidence that he has reconsidered his position,” he concluded.
The constant tension and uncertainty surrounding the club have surely affected its performance on the pitch. Much needs to be changed before Bilbao comes back to the right direction.
Athletic Bilbao will travel to Mestalla Stadium on October 20th for their next La Liga match.
