Journalism....does it only mean writting about the news or can it include something else?

does it mean only writting about the news...or does it involve other things.....like writting for magazines and things like that?

I would say writing in a crucial operational procedure in journalism, yet with the increasing popularity of Internet and the development of multimedia, journalism is expanded into the reporting of news and/or specific information which draw or are in close connection with public interest, being presented not only in pure writing, but also in audio and video presentation via various media.
