Why do the Jovian planets have a significantly greater gas content relative to the terrestrial planets?

Choose ALL letters that are correct.

A. The inner solar system originated with few gases.

B. The large gravitational fields of the Jovian planets trap more gasses.

C. The high temperatures of the terrestial planet cause gases to escape.

D. Gases were flung outward by the rotation of the solar system.

Which letters are true?

Thanks!

  1. Well... none of these are very good choices.  Solar winds literally blew the lighter elements to the outter solar system, while not having as much effect on the rocky components that mostly make up the inner solar system.

I guess since the solar system was still forming when the sun flashed into a burning star, that 'A' would be the most accurate answer, but... it's not a very good description.

  2. Just B I believe.

Venus takes out 'C'- it's the hottest inner planet with the most gases.

A- There were gases everywhere, but the inner planets didn't have enough mass to capture much of the gases.

D-The rotation of the solar system didn't have anything to do with it, the gases were 'flung out' of the solar system by a blast of solar wind.
