Women’s Doubles partners Joyce Leong and Jessica Lim showed superb coordination and overwhelmed Susan Wang-Jasmine Yeo in Ede Clendinnen Shield Sydney on August 27, 2012.

Joyce and Jessica, who were playing for Western Australia, came back from behind and stunned their challengers in the last two sets.

Susan and Jasmine took off in perfect manner as they clinched the opening match point despite putting up a fluctuated performance.
They laid the foundation of their dominance by gathering valuable points at a steady pace and then doubled the impact with some uninterrupted rallies just before the interval.
However, they faltered at mid-game break and allowed their competitors to bounce back into the contest.
The twosome of Joyce and Jessica made amends with couple of consecutive points and maintained this rhythm all the way to the final stage.
Both contenders put all in their possession to claim the first set and this nerve-racking tussle ended when Susan-Jasmine placed a tight yet decisive margin of 22-20.
This first set loss woke the opposing team up and they switched on the best to stay alive in the contest.
They started making progress straight away in the beginning and kept moving forward at top gear throughout the second set.
Joyce and Jessica did not show any sign of confusion and played with great precision. They maintained a significant lead until game point situation and equalled the match score with 21-13 total.
A tremendous amount of fireworks was expected in the third set as both teams were standing on the same level with one win each.
Unexpectedly, the decider proved a one-sided affair after the interval as Western Australia’s shuttlers controlled the overall pace of the game and cornered their opponents.
Joyce and Jessica played positive badminton and proved their point. They raised hands as champions after registering a favourable figure of 21-13.
