Jpevie VS Tugboat: A battle for hat-trick
There is expected to be a fierce battle between Jpevie and Tugboat in the Next Meeting at Gowran Park October 5th & 6th Handicap as each one is on the verge of a hat-trick. Thus, the Irish contest, that is scheduled to be held today at Gowran Park, will
amuse the spectators.
On the good to soft course of 1 mile, 1 furlong and 100 yards, these two mighty geldings will run alongside 11 rivals. Each one of the duo seems to be greatly enthusiastic and eager to win.
Jpevie delivered four impressive performances during the last two months. During July, the John C. McConnell trained bay gelding finished as the runner-up each in Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Maiden and Craic On The Track 19th
August Maiden.
The three-year-old veteran horse moved ahead to break his maiden with the title of Niall Collier Memorial Claiming Maiden, held at Bellewstown on August 22.
Running with the favourite tag for the first time in his career, the Derek Kierans owned gelding marvellously notched up top spot in the Ballinrobe On Course Vets Rated Race.
Jpevie is now h**l-bent to complete his hat-trick. It will all up to the new jockey, Ross Coakley, how better he rides the gelding.
On the other hand, Tugboat has won 3 of his total 6 starts so far. The E. J. O'Grady trained bay gelding broke his maiden by winning the 18-runner race of Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3yo Maiden that was held at Navan on October 5, 2011.
His second victory came in the Clonacody Maiden Hurdle that took place at Clonmel on May 31, 2012. The Thomas Barr owned horse went on to seal another sterling success in the Arthur Guinness Fund Novice Hurdle that went down at Galway.
Like Jpevie, Tugboat is also going to try a new rider Wayne Lordan. Thus, both stand almost equal in terms of talent and experience.
In this scenario, a tough tug of war is expected between these two worthy horses. Let us enjoy the heated action and see who gains the feat. Good luck to the both.
