Jr Nation....How many "knew" Dale Jr was not going to help Kyle "Gomer Pyle" last night??

but now he knows what to do with his teams tto keep up at talledaga

If the lap down cars would not have been in the way I think he would have helped Kyle get ahead of Denny. See if Jr could have broke up their draft lock by making Kyle think he could have got around Denny "for the win" then Jr would have stood more of a chance of getting around both of them. We never got to see that strategy play out because of the lapped cars and the green white checkered finish and the cautions.

Seriously... Think about it...!!!

Here's how it works. 3rd place car pushes the second place  car (making him think he can win it) and the second place car goes to the side. Once the second place car is out of the way the 3rd place car gets in behind the first place car. Then Kyle would have started falling back. Dale being the genius he is side drafts off of the first place car and passes at the last moment for the win.

Jr wasn't going anywhere unless he could have passed them both.  Probably a combination of not being able to keep up with the Yota's, not having any drafting help from behind, and not wanting to push Shurb.

LOL Yep, you could see the writing on the wall there.  That's one thing Kyle fails to account for, the fact that he has not made a lot of friends the last couple of years.  I dare say that very few drivers would have helped him to a win with the way he races them most of the time.

Kyle and Jr both played it smart. Denny's car was just too strong. Would Jr have helped Kyle? We don't know because the situation never arose. If Jr would have jumped out of line first he would have just fallen back because the two teammates would have stuck together, so what's the point.

....Now, now, Winter Glory, you can't question Jr's desire to win there. He knew he had no help out there. His teammate was too far back and Bowyer couldn't keep up. "Settling" for third seems like the smart move in this situation to me.  : )

duh, how could he have helped him, those toy cars have more power, and yeah some how I just do not see dale Jr give the Shrub any help anyway.. I was happy that Dale Jr and Brad got  great finishes..Nobody had anything for that 20 car last night..

I'm sure Kyle would rather finish second than third. 2nd is the first loser, and third nobody remembers. It's all about the $$$ for Jr. He doesn't have to race hard because he makes all his money in merchandise. It's funny how people want to kill Kyle for not being happy with second, but praise Jr. for having no desire to win. To me that's what separates just another driver from a winner.

We actually never got that answer because Kyle never moved out to pass in the first place.  We never knew if JR was going to help him or not because it never happened.  If he did, you can probably say JR just would have went up behind Denny anyway.
