Jrue Holiday scores 24 as Philadelphia 76ers rout Milwaukee Bucks 94-82 - NBA Recap
Philadelphia 76ers don’t have a single superstar and yet they are sitting pretty near the top of the tables in the Eastern Conference. The reason is that every player on this team is assigned a role and he is fulfilling it just perfectly.
On Monday night, in what was their 13th game of the season, all the players combined yet again and guided 76ers to an impressive 94-82 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jrue Holiday stole the show with 24 points on 11 for 17 from the floor including 2 for 4 from the long range while Andre Iguodala pounded 21 to go along with 7 boards.
"I'm down to win all of them," a smiling Holiday said. "All the home games, away games. We can go undefeated from here on out. I'm cool with that."
Reserve Louis Williams had 17 points whereas Spencer Hawes completed a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds.
76ers shot only 44% from the floor but were hot from downtown and covered up for the unimpressive shooting through an aggressive 11 for 23 from the long range. 76ers outclassed the Bucks in the dished out assists 22-16.
"We love making the extra pass and seeing the next guy get the credit as much as doing it ourselves," Hawes said. "Any time you can get guys to buy into that, it's a dangerous combination."
Andrew Bogut led the Bucks with 20 points and 11 boards. Tobias Harris netted 12 on 5 for 8 from the paint while Jon Leuer accumulated 11 points.
76ers although dominated the first half throughout, but Bucks were never out of the game. Bucks were behind 9 points 47-38 with a minute to go in the first half but Leuer and Jennings rattled a 5-0 spurt in the dying moments to see off the first half at
43-47.
76ers started the third frame with a 9-2 run to boost the lead into double figures 56-45 and then maintained the lead throughout. By the end of the third frame, game had turned completely in their favour as they were ahead by 14 points 76-62.
Bucks succumbed to the pressure of the double figure deficit and failed to make any sort of comeback in the deciding frame while 76ers kept on attacking from the other end to complete a well deserved victory.
The win will be welcome in Philadelphia as they look to keep the momentum going and make it to the playoffs in an increasingly competitive Eastern Conference. On the other hand, the Bucks desperately need to string a few positive results together if they
are to be in the reckoning for the playoffs.
