After successive failures in the Spanish League, the UEFA Champions League and Copa Del Rey, Yellow Submarine have decided to let go of their trainer...
Following Villarreal’s failure to win the Copa Del Rey game against the Segunda B side Mirandes, the Yellow Submarine have parted ways with their trainer Juan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-Garrido-c8443 on Wednesday.
Head coach, Juan Carlos Garrido, was a part of Villarreal’s setup since the year 2002, when he became the manager of Villarreal B. He has been coaching the Spanish side since then, until he was sacked on Wednesday after failing to win the game against a
Segunda B side.
Juan Carlos Garrido has not really managed to shine at the Spanish club, despite having a strong squad. The Spanish coach decided to let go of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santi-Cazorla-c32505 in the summer transfer window and the Spanish Giants are struggling since then.
The Italian striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nilmar-c28044 have both failed to perform this season.
Garrido helped Villarreal qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Moreover, he also managed to take the Yellow Submarine to semi final stage of the Europa League. However, Porto proved to be a much stronger side against Villarreal and they won the semi final,
and later also claimed the European trophy.
This season, Garrido has been failing consistently. He has not managed to win a lot of points in the Spanish La Liga. Moreover, his team was drafted in the group of death as they played the UEFA Champions League. With Bayern Munich, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 and Manchester
City paired up with them in the same group, Villarreal were knocked out and they didn’t even secure a Europa League spot.
Villarreal’s last chance to impress this season was through Copa Del Rey. However, Garrido’s failure was once again highlighted as his team lost to a Segunda B side named Mirandes. The last match ended 0-2 in favour of Mirandes and Villarreal lost the match
1-3 on aggregate.
Villarreal confirmed through their official website that Juan Carlos Garrido has been relieved of his duties. The Spanish Giants are now going to try and find a replacement for their coach.
Villarreal are hardly surviving the relegation zone through goal difference. Moreover, they didn’t win a single game in the UEFA Champions League, making them the only Spanish team to lose all six games in the group stages of the European competition.
