Juan Carlos Oviedo receives visa for USA and will join Minor League facility on Monday - MLB Update
Following suspension from the Major League Baseball for concealing his identity, Juan Carlos Oviedo has come back to resume his career. As permission has been granted now, he will be joining the Miami Marlins’ bullpen in the season.
On Monday, he will show up at Jupiter, one of the Minor League facilities at Marlins’ club.
Couple of days ago, it was reported that the U.S. consulate in Dominican Republic will grant him visa and he will head to the Miami Marlins afterwards.
As soon as he received a visa, a ray of hope spread across the Marlins. The fact the Marlins’ bullpen has betrayed time-and-again, during crucial junctures, his entry will be welcome graciously.
Apart from Heath Bell, most of their relievers struggle to keep control under-pressure. Having a lead of two to three runs and getting it blown in the last inning has been a part and parcel of the Marlins’ endeavours in the season.
Even their most dependable reliever, Bell cost number of defeats, before getting his act together and re-launching himself in the season.
Oviedo holds an impressive career record of 92 saves. In this respect, the Marlins have a lot to feel good about.
Only worry regarding Oviedo can be the fact that Major League Baseball can suspend him for eight weeks before allowing him access to the Majors. MLB has not confirmed yet whether it will be put in effect or he will be exempted.
While talking to Listin Diario, a Dominican newspaper, Oviedo expressed his penchant for helping the side reach glory this year. At the same time, he was upbeat for having to get an opportunity of playing with the likes of Jose Reyes and Hanley Ramirez.

“I’m focusing to help my team get to the playoffs,” he said. “I’m looking forward to seeing Hanley [ Ramirez], [ Emilio] Bonifacio and [ Jose] Reyes.”
Most likely, Oviedo is going to spend time in Minor Leagues and from there he will set himself for playing the Majors. The Marlins will like to see him throwing quality pitches and become a major contributor to their victories in the season.
On the other hand, Oviedo will have an ideal opportunity to propel to the limelight by putting up stunning performances as reliever.
