Espanyol centre-back, Juan Forlin, has came out and made it clear ahead of the clash with their derby-rivals, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, that from now on every single game they play will be a final for his side
Espanyol have endured a dreadful start to the Primera Division this season. Their constant run of poor results caused them to stay rooted to the relegation zone until now.
However, the change of management by the club has brought some signs of stability and they now seem headed in the right direction. Morale is slowly coming back to the squad as they now look more solid as a unit.
In fact, Los Pericos have managed to stay undefeated in their last four La Liga matches.
It is because of their recent improvement on the field that makes Forlin hopeful. He is convinced that the second part of the Primera Division campaign will be better for his struggling side.
The centre-back knows his club’s survival is at stake and because of that he believes the only way they can ensure their safety is to take every game as a final.
The 24-year-old believes his side has what it takes to make this happen and survive in La Liga.
“Every game from now on will be a final and we will leave everything we have on the field after every training session and after every game, as we have shown we are doing in our most recent games played,” declared the midfielder
to reporters today.
Moreover, the Argentine admitted the difficulties his side have gone through and stated that they did their best to overcome the difficult period. He believes they are now moving in the right direction under the leadership of their
new boss, Javier Aguirre.
“We end a tough year. We have tried to overcome the difficulties of recent months and we expect 2013 to be better. Now we are back on the right track and we should not deviate.”
Espanyol are currently sitting on the 18th position in the table standings. Next match in the Primera Division they will encounter their giant neighbours and derby-rivals, Barcelona.
