Juan Garcia most probably scheduled to take on James Ventry in next bout – Boxing News
Juan Garcia, the undefeated American light welterweight prospect, will most probably defend his unbroken win streak on May 19, 2012 against James Ventry, if the latter comes out clean and fit from his May 9, 2012 bout against Sean Eklund.
The announcement was made by the organisers of the pay-per-view ‘Quake At The Lake’ which will be televised live from Civic Center situated in Holland, Michigan, United States.
The rest of the fight card is still under consideration and more bouts will be added with the passage of time. At the moment , four more bouts have been announced by the organisers which also include Jordan Shimmell make his professional debut against Kamarje
Harrison and Raeese Aleem defend his undefeated streak against Ralph Gramajo in a non-title featherweight bout.
Juan, 30, is a surging pugilist in the light welterweight division who has been in a total 12 bouts. The orthodox brawler has emerged victorious in all of his encounters and boasts eight of his total wins by sheer knockout.
This will be the first time when Juan will fight in front of his hometown fans in a ring set up in his hometown, Holland. Garcia is coming from an impressive split decision win over undefeated Yordenis Ugas.
Also known as ‘Johnny Garcia’, Juan boasts wins over many big names such as Reggie Nash in fact he has pinned Reggie twice and both times by technical knockout. It must be kept in mind that in both bouts Reggie heavily overshadowed Juan by his experience.
His Saturday night opponent, James, 42, seems to have no chance at all in front of Juan. Ventry has been in a total 21 bouts and was able to nail just seven opponents. He has collected four of his total wins by knocking the opponent out cold and seriously
lacks in almost all the basic brawling aspects.
He has been knocked out twice and exhibits a resume heavily tarnished by 13 losses, the reason why critics are predicting the bout to be a one-sided showdown. At the moment, James is scheduled to take on Sean and after that bout if he is fit to move on,
will enter the ring against Juan on May 19.
James is, unfortunately, on a huge eight-bout lose streak and will need a huge effort to comeback on the win track.
