For their next La Liga fixture, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468’s Levante.
The Valencian Community outfit has punched above their weight in the 2011/12 campaign, remaining in the top 7 for the entirety of the season. La Granotas became the first team to beat Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid early in the season and are looking to add
the scalp of Barcelona in their next fixture.
Talking to reporters ahead of the match, Juan Ignacio Martinez stated that they will welcome Pep Guardiola and his charges in high spirits and have made preparations to host them in their fashion.
The experienced coach stated that they have cut the grass on the playing field to accommodate their European champions at their home and will also water the fields according to their wishes.
“That's not what I had raised when I talked with Raimon (the gardener of the City of Valencia), asked him to just shake it a little not to surprise Guardiola, who will not be watching this," he said.
“They are already cutting (grass), tomorrow morning I will cast the water, we are very serious in that regard, for they say that has flowers the field and do not cut it since Christmas."
With only six matches remaining until the end of the Spanish premier domestic league, Martinez voiced his opinions on the title race. The Levante head coach believes that the end result in favour off or against Barcelona will not have a bearing on who is
crowned at the end of May.
"In a league it is regular, if we beat Barca it is easy to say with their mouths but we have to do it in the field of Curran and it will not be here that the title is decided. We do not think about such details."
The match is equally important for both La Liga sides, with UEFA Champions League qualification at stake for Levante, while Barcelona’s need to win to continue their challenge for a fourth consecutive domestic title.
