Juan ‘Iron Twin’ Urango set to make a comeback against Cristian Chavez – Boxing News
Juan Urango, former junior welterweight champion, is all set to make his comeback against Cristian Chavez on April 26. His bout will be part of the KO Entertainment card being held at the Centro Bancomer in Mexico City. This will be Urango’s first fight
after his controversial loss in March 2010 against Devon Alexander. Urango lost his title to Devon and since then has not been in the ring until now.
Juan ‘Iron Twin’ Urango currently has 22 wins, 3 losses and 17 knockouts in his portfolio, while his opponent has 23 wins, 18 losses and 11 knockouts in his portfolio. The bout between the two will be of 10 rounds for the welterweight title.
The event will be headlined by a 12-round bout between the current WBC silver super lightweight champion Roberto ‘Massa’ Ortiz against Javier Prieto. The third fight of the card would have Tomoki Kameda taking on Javier Chacon. Both the pugilists will fight
for the vacant WBC silver bantamweight title. Roberto Ortiz currently stands with 23 wins, 0 losses, 1 tie and 20 knockouts in his portfolio, whereas his opponent Prieto stands with 16 wins, 6 losses and 11 knockouts in his portfolio. If we go by the record
then Prieto is definitely the underdog for this fight. On the other hand, Tomoki is an unbeaten fighter with 22 wins and 14 knockouts in his bag whereas his opponent comes with 15 wins, 1 loss and 3 knockouts in his bag. Between the two, Tomoki is the more
experienced pugilist with no loss giving him an edge over his opponent.
It should be noted here that even though Juan Urango will be stepping in the ring after nearly 3 years, he has already bagged enough victories to stand sure-fire against his opponent. He has some fierce fighters in the industry such as Ricky Hatton, Andre
Berto and Randal Bailey. On the other hand, his opponent Cristian Chavez has to yet prove his capabilities against a top-notch fighter. This is probably a chance for Chavez to go the extra mile and cement his legacy in the industry or else his name will be
lost forever.
